Popular ride sharing service Uber, (which has recently become legal in NSW) is soon to be permitted at Sydney Airport. Previously, passengers who used the service at the airport had to walk to a local airport road, rather than be picked up in the designated taxi ranks. There will be a dedicated zone for terminals 2 and 3, with the possibility of another at terminal 1.
Users can take advantage of the service which is usually 20% to 30% cheaper than a taxi. There’s still no information on an access fee which currently is $4.10 for taxis. This fee however can be avoided by making your way to one of the external airport roads.
This is good news for Sydney travellers, and will be a popular option for frequent flyers.
